Eucalyptus kochii
Eucalyptus kochii és una espècie d'eucalipto pertanyent a la família de les mirtáceas. És un arbre natiu d'Austràlia Occidental.
Existixen dos subespecies:
- Eucalyptus kochii subsp. kochii Maiden & Blakely
- Eucalyptus kochii subsp. plenissima (C.A.Gardner) Brooker
Propietats
[editar | editar còdic]Es cultiva en plantacions per a la producció d'oli de eucalipto. L'oli destilat té un alt contingut en cineol (83-94%).[1]
Taxonomia
[editar | editar còdic]Eucalyptus kochii va ser descrita per Maiden & Blakely i publicat en A Critical Revision of the Genus Eucalyptus 8: 41. 1929.[2]
Eucalyptus: nom genèric que prové del grec antic: eû = "be, justament" i kalyptós = "cobert, que recobrix". En Eucalyptus L'Hér., els pétals, soldats entre sí i a voltes també en els sépals, formen part de l'opèrcul, perfectament ajustat al hipanto, que es desprén a l'hora de la floració.[3]
