Summary
| Description | Un típico ejemplo de relieve apalachano en Pennsylvania, Estados Unidos. La erosión en estructuras plegadas da origen a un sistema de cuestas con las crestas rectilíneas formadas por los estratos más resistentes que están, a su vez, intercaladas por valles también longitudinales que a veces se interconectan entre sí como se ve en la imagen, lo que en Geología o Geomorfología se llama un "water gap" (en inglés) o una "cluse vive" (en francés), cuando el río que sirve de conexión entre los dos valles lleva agua y "wind gap" o "cluse morte", respectivamente, cuando no la lleva. |
