Polygonatum biflorum (Polygonatum biflorum)

Polygonatum biflorum és una espècie leñosa pertanyent a la família de les asparagáceas, anteriorment en les ruscáceas.

Descripció

El menut sagell de salomón (Polygonatum biflorum) és una espècie leñosa, tuberosa, molt resistent a les gelades, nativa del sur de Canadà i est d'Estats Units i nort de Mèxic. Té talles estovats que donen numeroses florés blanques tubulars en les puntes verdes, colgantes i alguna cosa aromàtiques, baix el seu fullage glauco. La mata de fullage alcança prop d'1 m d'alt i pot estendre's finalment fins a alcançar varis metros d'esgambi.

Taxonomia

Polygonatum biflorum va ser descrita per Stephen Elliott i publicat en A Sketch of the Botany of South-Carolina and Geòrgia 1: 393, en l'any 1817.
